Gil is an actor born and raised in Mexico now based in Raleigh NC.<\/strong> After coming to the US… He re-took his acting studies with experienced actors at Back-to-One Studios in Raleigh, NC, where instructors and local producers have recognized him for his talent and fearless approach to acting. Following an open-call audition in September 2023, Gil was formally offered a supporting role, created for him by the writers, in an upcoming series pilot scheduled to begin production in early 2024.<\/p>\n

Prior to starting classes at Back-to-One Studios, Gil participated in a 4-month Intensive Method Acting Workshop through NYC Latin Media with International Actor and Instructor David Villanueva. This led to a role as part of an ensemble cast in a short film Los Primos No Tan Primos, produced by NYC Latin Media.<\/p>\n

Gil\u2019s recent brief training has been in the Meisner technique. His early background in radio and television post production adds to his capabilities as an actor. Gil enjoys improvisation, fantasy, drama, psychological thrillers and comedy. Gil\u2019s innate curiosity has led him to develop skills in multiple areas. He is a world traveler who worked in main theater shows on cruise ships for 10 years as a light and sound technician.<\/p>\n

Gil is an experienced Classic Rock, Blues, Hard Metal and Reggae electric guitar and bass guitar musician. He has performed with numerous bands in Mexico and local bands in Raleigh, NC. A native Spanish speaker, he is also fluent in English and has 40% fluency in Italian and 30% fluency in Portuguese.<\/p>\n

Gil is able to fluently produce accents from different regions of Mexico and well as other accents. In addition to honing his acting skills through his classes at Back-to-One studios and Actor’s Training Ground with Tanner Lagasca. Gilberto joins auditions and participates in local productions and more recently productions in Wilmington NC whenever possible.<\/p>\n

-You are starring in the new show \u201cSouvlaki Girl \u2013 Mrs Katina.\u201d How does it feel to become part of Greek culture through this role?<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-First of all, I am truly grateful and honored to be invited as a guest on this show. Becoming part of Greek culture through this role is genuinely fun and meaningful for me.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-Being born and raised in Mexico and now living in the U.S., what similarities do you see between Mexican and Greek culture that come through in the show?<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-One of the strongest similarities I see is the way our mothers raised us \u2014 with a lot of love, intensity, and of course\u2026 plenty of drama included!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-With a background in Method Acting, the Meisner technique, and improvisation, how did you approach building your character for a comedy that is also culturally driven?<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-I built my character by focusing on our cultural similarities. I react to situations that we already experience culturally, allowing those shared traits to naturally guide my performance.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-You\u2019ve worked in theater shows on cruise ships, music stages, and in post-production. How have these diverse experiences shaped you as an actor on screen?<\/strong><\/div>\n
-These experiences have helped me develop a deeper understanding of every department involved in a production. Knowing how each part functions allows me to better understand what is needed from me as an actor on screen.<\/div>\n

-You are a musician, multilingual, and a self-taught chef. If your character had a sound, a flavor, and a language, what would they be and why?<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-For this show, the flavor would definitely be Mediterranean, and the sound would be upbeat, fun music \u2014 something that makes you want to dance.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
-What are your future artistic goals, and what kinds of roles or projects do you hope to explore next? <\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
–<\/strong>I truly enjoy working on movie sets \u2014 they feel like home to me. I am especially interested in exploring strong characters with fewer words, roles that focus more on reactions and visual storytelling rather than dialogue.<\/div>\n

-What is the life motto you live by, and how does it guide you both personally and creatively?<\/strong><\/div>\n
-I have different mottos depending on the situation, but the one that guides me the most is: \u201cJust go for it.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
