10 year Anniversary Art Exhibition by Villa Aphea

Opening Saturday, 12 October 2024, at 3 o'clock.

10 years ago, we fell in love with Greece, Aegina island, and the beautiful Villa Aphea. The villa possesses charm, spectacular scenic views over the island, and enjoys spectacular sunsets, different each and every evening. That atmosphere inspired a group of artists and gave birth to the artistic spirit of Villa Aphea.

After 10 years of countless interactions with new artists, we thought it is time to share the space again and to give a new opportunity to emerging and established artists to showcase their work and talent in this incredible setting.

Thus, Villa Aphea on Aegina island, Greece, is thrilled to announce an opening of its 10 year anniversary, Pop-Up exhibition, “BEYOND THE BLUE AND BACK” on 12 October 2024.

The exhibition will feature innovative works by emerging and established artists and explores personal themes of each, gathered together in one voice.

Curated by Liviu Mihai and Ksenia Borissotcheva, this art show brings together 10 local and international artists working with a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, art installation, graphics and mixed media art.

The exhibition promises to conquer the public with works of art that talk about our complex world through innovative and diverse techniques and topics that address spirituality, beauty, recycling, various cultural and traditional symbols, and the human body.

Alex Maganiotis, Benoit Paré, Bertille Gentil, Cristian Moldova Helen Kyrkilis, Iulia Deme, Liviu Mihai, Maria Cismaru, Maria Kottaki and Misha Diaconu have their own styles and creative opinions, thus the exhibition offers a complex and contemporary ensemble of artistic expression and commentary, as a base for our internal and external dialogue.

“BEYOND THE BLUE AND BACK” invites you on a journey through the medium of art, referring to the depth of the colour blue, specific to Greek culture, a colour that calls you into an unknown abyss that wants to reveals to you new and beautiful things, a metaphor supported by the beautiful and charming atmosphere at Villa Aphea.
