Gil Fernandez stars in the new show Souvlaki Girl in the United States

Gil is an experienced Classic Rock, Blues, Hard Metal and Reggae electric guitar and bass guitar musician. He has performed with numerous bands in Mexico and local bands in Raleigh, NC.

Gil is an actor born and raised in Mexico now based in Raleigh NC. After coming to the US… He re-took his acting studies with experienced actors at Back-to-One Studios in Raleigh, NC, where instructors and local producers have recognized him for his talent and fearless approach to acting. Following an open-call audition in September 2023, Gil was formally offered a supporting role, created for him by the writers, in an upcoming series pilot scheduled to begin production in early 2024.

Prior to starting classes at Back-to-One Studios, Gil participated in a 4-month Intensive Method Acting Workshop through NYC Latin Media with International Actor and Instructor David Villanueva. This led to a role as part of an ensemble cast in a short film Los Primos No Tan Primos, produced by NYC Latin Media.

Gil’s recent brief training has been in the Meisner technique. His early background in radio and television post production adds to his capabilities as an actor. Gil enjoys improvisation, fantasy, drama, psychological thrillers and comedy. Gil’s innate curiosity has led him to develop skills in multiple areas. He is a world traveler who worked in main theater shows on cruise ships for 10 years as a light and sound technician.

Gil is an experienced Classic Rock, Blues, Hard Metal and Reggae electric guitar and bass guitar musician. He has performed with numerous bands in Mexico and local bands in Raleigh, NC. A native Spanish speaker, he is also fluent in English and has 40% fluency in Italian and 30% fluency in Portuguese.

Gil is able to fluently produce accents from different regions of Mexico and well as other accents. In addition to honing his acting skills through his classes at Back-to-One studios and Actor’s Training Ground with Tanner Lagasca. Gilberto joins auditions and participates in local productions and more recently productions in Wilmington NC whenever possible.
